Travis Lain owns Bottomland Kennels LLC, based in Keystone Heights, Florida with his wife, Chandler. Since 2012, Travis has been training bird dogs, waterfowl retrievers, and competing on duck dogs, producing both using dogs and competition dogs. At times, he also raises litters of pups. Specializing in client dogs, he competes in AKC hunt and field trial dog competitions with multiple breeds of dogs from labradors to pointers.
Skeptical At First
Travis says he’s “not usually into supplements” but had a friend recommend K10. He thought he might give it a try as he was struggling with a few dogs working in the Florida heat and humidity. He shares “after a month of using K10, I was amazed at my older 9-10 year old dogs lasting a lot longer in the heat and being able to train longer and be more focused. Their recovery was just a lot better.” He also remarks that “the dogs are keeping weight on better, and their coats look nicer.”
Along with his hunting dogs, Travis also keeps a Kelpie cow dog to help with cattle on his ranch, and when the dog got injured working cattle, he tried him on K10. He says the dog is a softer dog, and he was surprised that the dog seemed to recover from being banged up much faster, and be ready to go back to work more quickly.
Success Leads to Further Use
With results on his personal dogs, Lain decided to try K10 on a wider variety of dogs, including some client dogs, and he says that overall, he is “seeing dogs becoming much more focused and easier to train, not to mention they keep weight on better” after putting them on K10. He attributes that to them feeling better and being able to deal with stress and anxiety of a new environment and training pressure. He says “I just think K10 is helping these dogs feel and look better overall, and that makes the training go smoother, physically and mentally.”
Since he has all his dogs on K10, Travis is also using it for his expectant mothers and upcoming litters to experience the benefits of amino acid supplementation on gestation and litter vitality.
